As Def Sounds reported in early January, G-Unit affiliate Mazaradi Fox was murdered when a gunman in a black ski mask unloaded on an SUV full of people in Queens, NY. Now, just over a month since Fox’s murder, police announce they have made an arrest in the case.

As reported by the NY Daily News, the January murder of Mazaradi Fox — a Queens rapper who counted 50 Cent as a lifelong friend — was 16 years in the making, cops said Tuesday as they announced an arrest in the case.

According to the report, the suspect in the murder of Mazardi Fox is named Jamal Scott, who is a 35 year-old Jamaica, Queens resident.

Police say the murder was in retaliation for the 1998 killing of Scott’s older brother in which it is believed Fox was involved in.

Scott’s brother Curtis was 21 years-old when he was gunned down, allegedly by Fox and another man, outside Jamaica, Queens’ Baisley Park Houses on July 7th, 1998.

Jamal Scott was charged with second-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder and felony assault.
