J.Cole released his sophomore album, Born Sinner, on June 18th, and just about 5-weeks later the Roc Nation emcee’s LP has struck gold.

According to J.Cole’s manager, Ibrahim Hamad, via ChartNews, the North Carolina rapper’s sophomore effort reached over 500k sales after selling 26,394 copies in the album’s fifth sales week.

With J.Cole’s Born Sinner hitting the gold benchmark, the rapper has earned his second gold plaque as his debut album, Sideline Story, hit gold after 9 weeks on store shelves in 2011.

To add, J.Cole’s Born Sinner has hit gold status faster than Kanye West’s Yeezus after Yeezus bested Born Sinner by over 30,000 copies in the first sales week.
