This guy probably spent 2x more money on the production for his mixtape than most people get for an album budget. Probably 10x. Look at the production lineup. That is just unfair.

  I dont think noone fuckin with game and the mixtapes right now, hes doin this shit like old wayne right now, who else you know puts out a 20 track tape, the next day a 10 track tape and like 4 months later a 24 track tape?
  
  Dudes killin the mixtape game right now not to mention what hes puttin out isnt lil b material its quality sht, and also I like how he announces his mixtape like 2 weeks ahead of time and im like okay just like every other artist well have to wait months for this new tape and then he drops it a week or 2 later. dude is too slept on to be puttin out this material like this for the fans and to only get 100 k 1st week sales… idk what anyone on defsounds says, red album was an above par album, at 1st listen maybe not so, but 2nd listen all the way thru, dude knows how to order an album and how to make nice shit.

    Red album was decent, but probably his weakest. I even liked LAX better. Ur right about the mixtape. 24 tracks is definitely generous. He pays for those beats tho. Producers need to get paid too.

      I don’t think he pays for the beats. It would be waaaay too much money to spend on a product he’s giving away. Wouldn’t make any sense. I think a lot of times producers give rappers beats and the agreement is they can use them for promotional use but if they put the beat on a buyable album they get paid for it.

        It would make sense. Because Game builds buzz for his album. It’s an investment. Lock your fans in so they buy your shit later. And I think it’s the other way around. Production that makes an album that is on itunes, for example will have less of an up front cost and more of a percentage of sales, whereas the mixtape will be more of an upfront cost of just buying a beat. I think that Pharrell got paid for those 4 or so beats, Boi-1da got paid for those 2 beats, Just Blaze got paid for his beat, and the Cool & Dre productions too. Those guys don’t just give their work away.

        I actually have a friend who is a really legit producer that I bet 50% of people on defsounds have heard of. You definitely should know him if you consider yourself a hip hop head. I knew his name years before I ever met him. But yeah, quality production is super valuable and always comes with a price tag. I know he just did a “producer album” and had artists featured on it, and he just did a 50/50 type of thing. Whatever the fuck they got for it they split. That was how gang starr did it too for a while. Game has a lot of money. He can do a show a big show out in LA and make 20k in a night. I guarantee you that Game shelled out bills to pay these top notch producers. These are some of the “best” producers today. If Game went to Pharrell with nothing in his pockets, he would get nothing but a throwaway. If he wants a banger it’s going to costs him. Whatever Game decides to do with his finished tracks is up to him. He could record 50 songs for example and 25 make the album and 25 make mixtapes to hype the album up. But he pays for the production dude. He could’ve bought 10 from Pharrell and we just haven’t heard the other 5 yet. Cool & Dre had 4 beats on R.E.D., Pharrell had 1 and Boi-1da had 1. He goes to a producer and has a listening session and he buys whatever the fuck he wants. What he decides to place on an album or a mixtape is up to him. It’s a strategy. But all these producers got paid my little friend. Nothing is free.

        Game get’s his money from touring and shit, not from album sales which is great if you ask me.
        He also admitted he doesn’t care if people bootleg his album, he actually supports that.

    I’m sorry but red was kinda weak especially for game’s standards… He had way too many features and most of tha album has no replay value… There only about 5 or 6 songs I can still listen to

  No, I don’t think Game pays (at least not much) for producers and features and shit. He got a lot of respect from people, have you seen his interviews and blogs and what not? He’s a cool dude, down to earth and that’s why people respect him.
  That’s also why he got so many features, they all know Game is not the best rapper in the game but they respect him to the point where they wanna be on his album/mixtape/song.

Well… I listened to every track and, after doing so, I’m being generous when I say l MIGHT listen to two of these songs ever again. Overall, pretty bad mixtape. Fortunately, it’s just that: A mixtape. The truth is, Game stopped having things to talk about after Doctor’s Advocate. He’s one of those rappers who was only meant to make one or two albums and then find something else to do in life. He raps about weed, women, sneakers and living in LA endlessly and I know most rappers rap about the same stuff but in Game’s case it’s just become so stale. He just has no inspiration. And, furthermore, he’s the type of rapper who needs someone to guide his album making process, the way the Aftermath camp did on Documentary. Oh well. Hopefully F.I.V.E. is decent, but it’ll probably be that at best.

    Man, the only vault he should’ve kept the majority of these songs in is the ASS Vault. Bad mixtape. I know you can’s stand Game because you say he’s a fraud, and I’m sure you’re right. All signs seem to point to the fact that Game was never really a Blood, never really gang-banged and never did any more drug dealing than the average dude from the hood. All that plus the ‘Change of Heart’ thing screams that you’re probably right.
    
    But for me, I guess I just never cared much about that when it came to Game. For one, I think 90% of rappers are frauds. But more to the point, Documentary just had so many down-right bangers and Doctor’s Advocate was good too… so I just enjoyed them for what they were. He also goes in lyrically on occasion. But his best days are WAY behind him. Game should hang it up. His songs are pretty much about nothing at this point.

      I agree, I also liked the first couple of mixtapes dissing the Unit, but than it suddenly began to become very redundant. lol After the “8th mixtape” and still dissing them 1000000 bars and still running hahahahaha
