I agree with !bucktheworld. He’s got those nice, hard beats and that solid 50 flow- but he’s not saying shit with any of it. He’s just glorifying things he hasn’t been engaged in in over 10 years. If rapping abut guns, money and hoes over hard beats purely for the sake of staying relevant and getting money is our idea of what ‘rap music should be’- it’s no wonder the game is in the place it’s in. None of these songs have any value whatsoever other than nodding your head. I don’t see how the same people who support J. Cole, Kendrick, Buddens and other more conscious rappers also support this. And yet the same people trash bubble gum/pop rap. To me, this is no better than any of that. Fake is fake. Valueless is valueless.

    You really got it messed up… How can anyone question 50′s morals? How many rappers have NATIONAL projects that are feeding over a million people? How many times has 50 given back to not only his community but the community in general? 99% of rappers never even lived what they rapped about, there is no denying 50 at least participated at some point in his life some of what he’s rapping about. Hate on the guy all you want but there isn’t any mainstream rapper keeping it as real as 50 does.

      Keeping it real is preaching in your music what you practice in your every day life. What 50 is doing is hypocrisy. 50′s a rapper, so his number one medium for spreading a message is his music. Therefore, if his efforts to feed the poor and give back to his community are sincere, he’d not only spread that message through his music- he’d WANT to do so. Doing one thing in one area and doing the opposite in another area doesn’t make things better. At best the two cancel each other out and keep things exactly as they are. What’s more, sure he engaged in criminal activity a long time ago. When he was young, broke and ignorant. So maybe it was more understandable for him to rap that way then. He’s 35 now, with millions of dollars, children, tons of life experiences and more than aware of how difficult and unpleasant life in the hood is. If he was mature and responsible, he’d take all that and use it to make a POSITIVE difference in a CREATIVE way.
