Sway catches up with the Slaughterhouse crew in Detroit and they speak on their Shady Records debut, process of laying down tracks together and more.
The next album will reach a whole different dimension of Insane.
Damn, I don’t think MTV has been this DOPE since 1997 lol. Real Cool interview! Would be a great Christmas Gift… Yup!
christmas? dang, thats too far! I’m hope that Joell and Crooked get something dropped before December like royce and joe are
Well not to sure what Joell has been doing, but Crooked just drop the Million Dollar Story EP. The full length album suppose be released sometime in May or June. Joey don’t have much scheduled besides Mood Muzik 4.5 and Royce only has this Bad Meets Evil EP right?
Nevermind, I forgot the “Success is Certain” album being released in July for Royce. Probably is the whole focus for the Bad Meets Evil EP, to be used as a promotion… Joell just released his “Free Agent” album in February, so doubt he has something newer coming for a little while.
Damn, after everytime I make a comment I remember something else lol. Joe Budden has “The Great Escape” coming out soon also. Just remembered, lol ok I am done now!
you really think crooked is coming out in june? I have barely heard anything about his project…seriously doubting it will be summer
I can only Pray for it lol! I am just stating what he has been saying on Freestyles and his EP
Can’t wait for the follow up to that first sick ass album. I put so many ppl on to slaughterhouse with that cd and lyrical murderers.
I bought their first album without EVER listening to Royce, Joey (since Pump It Up), and Joell.
The only artist I knew from before was Crooked.
Since then I’ve listened to all of their solo discographies.
Can’t wait for this one.
I only heard of Royce from “Slim Shady LP” and heard of Budden off and on from random tracks. I haven’t heard of Crooked or Joell until Hip-hop Weekly Reloaded series. During that series I became a big fan of every member. Now I have everyone of the “Mood Muzik’s”, every other album ie. “Padded Room, Halfway House, etc” and listen to them religiously. Have every Crooked I track released since Hip-hop Weekly to Reloaded to any freestyle released to date. I was very unfamiliar with Joell but I have his random freestyles Defsound uploads unto the site. I don’t think Joell is as active as the other 3.
dats good shit..see 4 me it was completely different..i thought all 4 of em was 4 of da best rappers in da game period wit Joey and Royce bein 2 of my very favorites b4 dey ever even formed Slaughterhouse..dats why when dey 1st made da slaughterhouse track 4 halfway house along wit Nino Bless it was like a dream come true cuz Nino was 1 of da main dudes i was listenin 2 at da time also after he dropped untold scriptures..when dey formed a supergroup da shit blew my fuckin mind
Been listenin 2 Royce off and on since 01 but he became 1 of my favs in 04 wit death is certain..been followin Joell since 06 b4 he dropped bodega..been listenin 2 Crook since 08 2ward da end of his hip hop weekly series and i went back 2 listen 2 all of em b4 da final and i been followin Crook shit ever since..and Joey i started wit da 1st 2 mood muziks in 07 b4 part 3 dropped and quickly realized he was 1 of da best niggas in da game period..along wit dat its almost 2 good 2 be true dey ended up signin 2 shady..point blank Slaughterhouse is da best group of lyricists of all time..cant wait til dat shady debut happen
Crooked is my fav of the group. Joey and Royce are equal to me, 2 different styles really can’t be compared. Joell is slightly at the end, but he still one of the best he just lacking the activity. You were way ahead of me on the “Underground” Hip-hop game. Before Hip-hop Weekly Reloaded, I was hung up on Hell Rell shit lol. Then my friend pointed me to Slaughterhouse and I did some research on each member. Now I am a Hip-Hop underground junkie lol. I can’t believe what I listened to prior and now its like listening to real Hip-hop all over again like the 90′s lol. No commercial, garbage, bubblegum rap.
Yeaa I’m only 19 so back in 01-05, I was really only listening to mainstream Hip Hop. I was still checking out Datpiff and all that for mixtapes, but never listened to anything too underground.
Once my favorite rapper Wayne started to fall off, I knew my style was lyricism. I knew what Slaughterhouse was about and what they represented… so I took a gamble and bought their album the first day it came out. I couldn’t even distinguish between their voices lol… but it was dope music.
Good shit yall.
Yea, unfortunately we have that in common lol. I was a Wayne fan prior Carter 3. Anyhow, Wayne definitely went downhill with his music. I am surprised you are only 19 knowing a shit load about politics and real shit… Nice!
