    True Bird was a tall, slow white boy, but defense has little to do wit athletecism. Bird was an incredibly smart player and underrated defender. I mean have you seen the play where he steals the in bound pass and kicks it to Dennis Johnson before falling out of bounds for the win in the 87 conf finals against Detroit?? One of the best plays in sports history! Not to mention that if wade and bron bron were playing back then they wouldn’t have been nearly as athletic as they are now

      Good post Vill. Another thing that people forget is Bird had a heart of Stone and was one of the mentally toughest players to ever play. He wouldnt let anybody run all over him.

    R you serious? In a 20 game series, the Celtics would win 15+ games against the Heat. The Celtics were the definition of true teamwork. The Celtics would let Wade and James score 40 each and still win the game. A legendary team like the Birds Celtics would easily run over a team with 2 and a half players.
