if you thought lupe held his own here you know nothing about politics…I hate bill oreilly and was hoping lupe would bring up some better points but he didnt bring up any point to really discredit oreilly..all he did was try to defend his side of it with some basic facts about the world..I honestly feel like even I could have done a better job than he did…ideas are meant to be built on, that’s how you make oreilly look stupid like Jon Stewart did, when you build on oreillys idea with something contradictory and he can only dismiss your idea that’s what exposes him for the ignorant asshole he is..but instead he made lupe look like the ignorant asshole here, lupe really let me down here I thought he was smarter than that…if you do some serious research you would know that lupe had a few chances to discredit oreilly, for example the fact that the Taliban are mainly in Pakistan not afghanistan..an they are where the real threat is right now…although we’re allies to their government theyve been at war with taliban rebels who have missiles that WE gave to pakistan but ended up in the hands of the terrorists… we gave away 2000 missiles in the middle east and afghanistans leader who was overthrown (general massoud) only had 8 of them so why are we fighting a war to take down the Taliban in
afghanistan and not Pakistan? that’s an example of a valid point that could’ve tested oreilly’s argument…lupe really let me down

Not sure what you guys are on. Lupe got absolutely wrecked here. O’Reilly may not be the smartest guy around but he’s certainly far more knowledgeable on the topic than Fiasco is. Lupe has turned his entire career into a joke. All he does is whine and complain with no logical arguments to back up his opinions with. Big Boi wanted to get an album released his way and resisted pressures from his label for 4 years before they finally let him go and he was capable of releasing the album his way through Def Jam. As a result, ‘Sir Lucious Left Foot’ was the most critically acclaimed album of 2010 next to MBDTF. Lupe’s label gives him the same crap they gave Big, he produces bullshit music under pressure, then has the nerve to say the label was holding him hostage. It’s his voice on the tracks. No one held a gun to his head and told him to record. This ‘Obama is the biggest terrorist’ shit is just another brick being removed from his legacy. Lupe is one of the most talented rappers around, but the kid needs to learn when to stop whining and get back to making quality music.

I see where your coming from, but I don’t think you fully understand where Lupe is coming from. His ordeal wasn’t just about his music, it was about the whole idea behind controlling what they meaning the big wigs wanted the masses to hear.

I don’t think Lupe gives two flying fucks about record sales or numbers his 1st week or having a critically acclaimed album. His concern is the people, and if you listen to the album Lasers, you’d see and hear that. Lupe legacy is just being built here, in no way is his legacy tainted for this, or the album Lasers. Just my opinion.

I like Lupe and agree with his opinions (in this case), but I expected him to come through and give actual facts to support his argument.

A full, sit down interview would have suited the situation better. The scope of the issue is just too large to discuss in 5 minutes.

He started to talk about the issues w/ Afghanistan, but got interrupted before he could bring up the opium. Damn shame.

lupe got outdone by bill on this one. i’m one of lupe’s biggest fans when it comes to his music and the respect i have for his intellectualism but he honestly didn’t live up to a standard i think he set with his music and more importantly with his statement about obama being a terrorist. if you’re going to make that bold of a statement you have to at the very least have some substantiating evidence to back it up. lupe did not on this one. he basically just restated what he had already said which is lame when it comes to a debate. you repeat a statement for emphasis you build upon it. the same as you don’t raise your voice to get a point across you simply increase the strength of your argument.
