Lil Wayne will cover 2Pac‘s “Hail Mary” when he performs on MTV’s Unplugged which airs on Sunday June 12th, now MTV gives you a very short sneak peak of the performance.

i’m not big on the idea of a hip hop song cover as it is, let alone one of a great song by a legendary performer/artist/rapper done by a over rated rapper. The worst part is one of the reasons i love hail mary so much is because like alotta of pac’s record it had a special kind of aggresion to it that no one can duplicate so having somebody try and perform it will always come up short but atleast props to wayne cuz at the very least he’s paying homage and respect even if the cover sucks

I always like covers just because artist give their own personality to a song that inspired them as it inspired us. So if you look it that way covers are always good as they are a tribute to the greats. A tribute by giving something of their own to it.
