i respect meek as an artist n he has good lyrics, but his voice needs some work lol its boring n hard to listen to imo… i can listen to him for a little while, but not sit through a whole album with him on it, like i do w nas or some other artists.

Talking about ‘persevering through the hard times’ doesn’t automatically make a song good or deep or profound. Here we have a bunch of tired, played out verses, all overly-familiar and filled with ‘we made it out’ anecdotes that contain no real substance, all glued together by a sappy ‘pull the heartstrings’ hook. I know, I know, I’m the equivalent of the Defsounds Grinch. But it’s the truth. Pass.

People said Nas fell off in the late 90′s before Stillmatic, but that’s bs. I honestly hope he makes albums for the next ten years, one of the best. And it’s not just the lyrics, flow, and vocab, its them them and overall impact of each verse. His verses are more than the sum of its part and that just makes for dope song after dope song. His shit ALWAYS has substance, minus a few exceptions.

Wow this is so disappointing. I actually had high hopes for this song and thought Meek has potential but this is just so mediocre. You can never go wrong with a Nas feature and John Legend STAYS blessing hooks. Idk what happened here. Meek was so horrible, even Ross had a better verse. I just lost all hope in this album…

shockingly this song is not as good as i expected…i dont know what happened it just aint got that “magnificient”, “triple beam dreams”, “this thing of ours” feel. hopefully the album better but when ur nas feature sound wack i dont know…imma give him a chance though but it seem like kendrick got shit sewed up right now
