Hate on Premo if you want, but the beat makes the track. Lyrics and flow are nice, but if he spit the same thing over a different beat I guarantee this cut isn’t nearly as memorable. People say his beats sound similar cuz most of them are just drums, bass, some weird some effects, scratches and maybe samples, but he still makes them sound different. Does this sound like NY State of Mind, Nas is Like, Unbelievable, D’Evils, The Format, Mass Appeal, Above the Clouds, Full Clip, Classic, Moment of Truth, I Gave You Power, A Million and One Questions????? That’s several classics off the top of the dome, barely scratching the surface of his dope beats. DJ Premier overrated, GTFO.
