Tyler, The Creator Inks Deal With Pharrell’s New Label [Updated] No Deal Was Signed

Pharrell has started a new label, I Am Other, and Odd Futures front-man Tyler, The Creator is the first artist signed to the imprint.

Pharrell gave a statement on the new situation:

“They’re not getting the recognition in the mainstream media, but in the digital world they dominate – the 16-, 17-, 18-year-old virtuosos all over the world coming out of nowhere and just taking stake in their position. The Others are multifaceted, pro-active people who live outside the box and aren’t confined by categories.”

As P speaks on the imprint he says:

“I Am Other is aimed at launching a generation of self-motivated, Internet-savvy musical talent.”

VERY few people rub me the wrong way in the fashion that dork Tyler does. He’ll come crying to Pharrell for him to sign him to his label in a couple months when everybody forgets about these Odd Future clowns.

  ive listened to both of tylers albums and as a concept i think its cool but i don’t think him or his group is as good as everybody seems to think they are. i dont think theyre terrible either but i think that theyre a group that has been shoved down the countries throat cause theyre the “new” thing and that their fame will die out in the next year or 2 and theyll go back to having a smaller undergroundish following.
