Chicago upstart Chance The Rapper had a break-out year in 2013 and apparently it has Troy Ave feeling some type of way as the NYC rapper calls out Chance as a drug addict.

Troy Ave’s words about Chance come as the Chicago newcomer was named Rookie of the Year over Troy in a recent poll done by Complex, and Troy didn’t feel that Statik Selektah was right in voting for Chance over him.

During a recent interview with TheNEHip-Hop, Troy Ave says that he doesn’t understand how a “drug addict” can be at the forefront of rap as he refers to Chance The Rapper.

Troy explains his issue with Statik voting for Chance over him:

I wasn’t feeling Statik the other day man because Complex had a list of some shit, and rookie of the year, he voted for Chance The Rapper over me. And I said I’m gonna tell him when I see him, “That shit you did voting for Chance The Rapper over Troy Ave was corny ‘cause I don’t see Chance The Rapper at your parties or featuring on your records, you can’t be fucking voting for drug addicts to be rookie of the year.”

He adds:

The game is twisted and fucked up. How is a drug addict gonna be at the forefront of rap? That shit is corny. Basically, he cleared it up, he said there wasn’t like a list of names for him to choose from. He didn’t pick him over me, they just asked him, “Who do you vote for?” and they had to send out a name or whatever.

It looks like Troy doesn’t know the facts as he calls Chance a drug addict. It seems like he’s basing it off the Chi rapper’s critically acclaimed project’s, (Acid Rap), title.

This is now the second time Troy Ave has had hard feelings over another rapper as he recently called Kendrick Lamar a “Weirdo.” Now, Troy tries to clear that up as he says that he wasn’t dissing Kendrick by calling him a weirdo:

I wasn’t dissing him or nothing, it’s like if somebody said “Troy Ave is a dark skin rapper,” alright, that’s the truth. Kendrick Lamar is a weirdo rapper, you know what I mean? That don’t mean he don’t make good music, he got a few songs that I actually happen to like, but he’s a weirdo. Weirdo meaning different, you know what a weirdo is, you know what I mean. That’s what it is, it ain’t no dissing or nothing.
