Bay Area rap legend Too $hort was arrested early this morning in Los Angeles after being pulled over for a traffic violation, which led to the rap veteran being hit with felony charges.

As reported by TMZ, Too $hort was pulled over in L.A. for a traffic violation. After being stopped, police noticed the rapper was under the influence, and proceeded to administer a breathalyzer test.

As officers tried to do the breathalyzer, $hort allegedly took off running, and fell on the street and was eventually placed under arrest.

Police sources also tell the publication, while in cuffs on the way to being booked at the station, Too $hort allegedly tried to dump drugs in the back of the police cruiser.

Too Short has been charged with DUI and felony narcotics possession.

Update #2: Too $hort claims the drugs found in the cop car weren’t his, and also TMZ has obtained footage of the rapper’s arrest as he attempted to run from the cops.

A rep for Too $hort says that the drugs found in the back of the police car do not belong to the rapper, but the LAPD says that their cars are searched thoroughly after each arrest the rapper’s charges are sticking.
