VH-1 has added a number of clips to a previous 2009 episode of “T.I. – Behind The Music” for an upcoming updated release of the program. In one of the new clips, T.I. and his wife Tameka speak on his lengthy stint in prison.
“I don’t think I have to sell the fact that prison sucks,” said T.I. “When you have your liberties and the loves of your life taken away from you, it puts a lot of things in perspective.”
Tameka spoke on how the two were in constant contact while T.I. was inside. “We talked every day and he would let me know ‘I got so and so many days’ and he was counting down. I guess that he felt that what didn’t kill him made him stronger.”
Additionally, T.I. spoke on running with different circles in prison, stating, “That time was a lot more difficult for me. It was a lot more mental adjusting. I approached prison as a normal guy, everybody treated me as a normal guy. I am a man of many different personalities. I can be real laidback in a calm setting and I can turn up when it’s time to. That allows me to travel within many different circles. It was no different in prison.”
T.I.’s “Behind the Music” premiers tonight at 10 PM EST/9 PM CST on VH1; you can view the clip, (via VH1), from the upcoming episode below:
