The famous label Loud Records which is subsidiary of SRC Records that was founded in 1992 by Steve Refkind, and released music from Big Pun, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep, M.O.P and many others in the 90’s, was officially shut down in 2002; Loud will be brought back to life with a new partnership with Rifkind’s SRC and Def Jam.

It was reported yesterday that Asher Roth signed to Def Jam. Today Steve Rifkind explains that the Asher Roth deal is part of Def Jam’s new partnership with his SRC label, and Roth’s new album will be released under Loud Records.
