As Def Sounds previously reported, Slaughterhouse‘s Shady Records debut, Welcome To Our House was pushed back until August 28th. To make up for the delay the 4 man crew that consists of Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce Da 59 and Joell Ortiz will drop a prelude to the album with a new mixtape.
This past weekend during the BET Awards, Slaughterhouse chopped it up with Jenny Boom Boom, and Royce revealed that a new mixtape will be released before the LP drops.
Royce tells Jenny when asked about some members wanting to push the album back, while others wanted to release it, he says:
“No, we actually all agreed, everyone in the group agreed. We got on the phone with Paul Rosenberg, who’s very understanding. He doesn’t want us to feel like were forcing anything out, he wants us to be comfortable and he expressed that.”
As Nickle continued, he says they are recording a mixtape to get their buzz right:
“We want to put some more materiel out, before we put this album out. I find the buzz really starts to move like we want it to when we’re rapping, so right now we’re working on a mixtape.”
