Former Bad Boy rapper Shyne was released from a New York state prison on October 6th of 2009 after serving almost 9 years of a 10 year sentence stemming from a gun charge. After Shyne was released from state prison, he was immediately taken into federal custody and was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a federal corrections facility in western New York State.

Shyne was in federal custody until October 28th, 2009, and then was denied entry into the United States and subsequently deported to back to his home country of Belize.

Now, Shyne wants back in the US as he has petitioned the Obama Administration to grant him a visa to enter the United States of America.
