The case has been ongoing for some time now, but now it finally comes to an end as the “rapper” Rick Ross has won the appeal over ownership of his name against the “Real” Rick Ross.
As reported by TMZ, “Rapper” Rick Ross can keep his name, as a L.A. County Superior Court judge ruled in favor of the rapper and shut down all claims of ownership of the name from former kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross who declared that the rapper is profiting from his name and reputation unlawfully as the rapper has strongly intimated him in his songs, and in persona.
As Def Sounds previously reported, in a recent interview the Real Rick Ross spoke out against William Roberts for using his name, other rappers associating with William Roberts. Freeway called the rapper out, and said he would release the rapper’s deposition to the public once the case is over so they world could see how big of clown he is.
This is what Freeway Rick Ross had to say at the time of the interview:
“As soon as she makes the final ruling, I’ll be releasing William Roberts’ [aka Rick Ross] deposition publicly. I can’t wait, so everyone can see what a clown he is. The way he clowned me. He shook all the white people’s hand in the room and totally disrespected me in the room. When they get to see some of the things he says on camera … I couldn’t believe some of the things he said on camera. Let the world see it.”
