While he’s out in the UK promoting his debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, Pusha T spoke on the current status of the Clipse.

During a recent interview with Zane Lowe for BBC 1, Pusha T gave an update on the current status of the Clipse, while revealing that Kanye and Pharrell are pushing for a new album from the Va. duo, but his brother, No Malice, doesn’t feel that it’s the right time to drop a new album.

Pusha T addresses a possible new album from the Clipse:

Man, I would really love to [release a new Clipse album].

As he continued, he reveals that No Malice has other things on his mind, and is not ready to record a new album:

My brother is really on his mission right now… We had the tenth anniversary of Lord Willin. 30 dates, needless to say, high dollar. Two weeks to go my brother was like ‘nah I don’t wanna do it. I’m off that I’m on my mission right now.

Push then revealed that Malice wasn’t up to performing with him at Coachella:

I had to do Coachella, I’m like “yo, I’d love to bring you out.” He’s like “alright, what songs you wanna do?” You know me, I wanna do “Keys Open Doors”… He’s like “nah I’m not really feeling that.”

As he continued, Pusha T notes that he’s not the only one down for a new Clipse album as he reveals that Pharrell and Kanye are ready to make it happen.

Push says P wants them to record a Speakerboxxx/The Love Below type album:

“On top of those scenarios, you’ve got Pharrell saying “when you ready, let’s go. I think we should do a two sided [album]. You do what you do, he do what he do, and that’s what we do.”

He explains that Kanye wants to be involved in the project as well:

Kanye is like “listen, I want to executive produce this. If you want Pharrell to do the whole thing, that fine, if not I’ll just be here too.”

As Push wrapped things up, he says that he doesn’t want to record a new Clipse album until he is on the same page with his brother:

When it comes to the Clipse though, I want me and him to understand each other, the true direction, and then we’ll just go for it.
