Early yesterday morning, up and coming Oakland rapper Kenny Clutch was murdered on the Las Vegas strip.

As reported by CNN, A shooting and a fiery crash left three people dead in the neon heart of the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, and police scrambled to find out who triggered the carnage.

One of the three victims was up and coming Oakland rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. better known by his rap name Kenny Clutch.

Clutch was shot and killed while driving down Las Vegas Boulevard around 4:20 AM Thursday morning after getting into an altercation in the valet lot of the Aria Hotel, which soon spread into the streets, and led to shots being fired out of a black Range Rover that police believe a group of men were riding in. The gunshots killed the rapper causing him to lose control of his Maserati, swerve into oncoming traffic then proceeded to crash into a taxi at an intersection, which caused the taxi to burst into flames due to the force of the Maserati.

The rapper’s attorney, Vicki Greco gave a statement addressing Clutch’s death:

Out of everyone I know in the rapping industry there is no way I would have ever, ever expected to find that he was shot on the Las Vegas strip in such an aggressive manner. He didn’t have a (criminal) record or a history. He was just a good kid trying to make it and be a good father.

Rapper Kenny Clutch, the taxi driver and a passenger in the taxi all died in the fiery crash.

The shooter or shooters have yet to identified, but a multi-state manhunt is currently taking place, and police are going over surveillance footage obtained from four nearby hotels, Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, Bally’s and the Flamingo hoping to get a lead on the assailants who were driving a black Range Rover Sport with dealer plates.
