Nas Talks President Obama, Lauryn Hill, How Basic Hip Hop Is In 2012 + More

The Life Files recently caught up with Nas for an interview on the roof top of his Manhattan hotel.

As they chopped it up, Nas gives his thoughts on the more basic rap songs that dominate the radio in 2012, and he goes on to name a few rappers who are holding hip hop by having their own unique style.

As the Q&A continued, Nas spoke on Barack Obama, and states that he doesn’t see how anyone could take the job of President and not go crazy, and that he’s also hoping he gets a second term.

Nas then goes on to speak on Lauryn Hill and admits that she may be the most talented person that he’s worked with.

  It’s not his fault it’s the political platform as a whole. You can’t just blame one person for the fuck up this country has turned into. That’s like blaming the QB or star player for losing a game.     He said he would NOT sign the NDAA, and he signed it anyway on NEW YEARS EVE. The bill that lets them lock your black president supporting ass up just because they want to without a Legal Trial. He has been chipping away at the constitution since he took his oath. Get your facts straight. Just because he is the “So called” first black president gets him a free pass? No he gets criticized like every other paid for president that came before his lame ass. Yes “So called” first, because technically he really wasn’t.

I hope we all know that some of these polices and laws and sanctions that are being passed are sometimes voted for. So sometimes as a president you are just the face of a nation and your power is actually limited. President Obama has a whole staff behind him that advise him to do certain things in the best intrest of “Company A” because they put up a large amount during his politcal campaign. So basically when voting we are just voting for the lesser of 2 evils. Not to say that we shouldn’t vote but if you do vote then don’t just stop there, we as united states citizens should play a bigger role in what laws get passed. and dispite what anyone says i believe president obama was a good thing if not for america as a whole at least the black community. Now black kids have someone positive to look up to besides sports stars, rappers,actors. White people have lots of people to look up to which helps there children mentally so they can grow up more confident about achieving there goals. As a black man in this country it is hard growing up in the hood, we feel like the chips are stacked against us as is, so if a black man gets two terms in the office and the country being fucked up because of that then ok its nothing new.but the result of another term in office by a “bad black president” is my black children all over the nation growing up with confidence and hope.
