Early in the week, Nas revealed the cover art for his forthcoming album, Life is Good, along with a video explaining the meaning behind the artwork. At the time the cover was revealed, there was some confusion on the concept as the video just showed various clips that displaying various high and low points in his life, not really giving a clear explanation to some.
Now Nas gives a more detailed explanation of the album art.
In a recent interview with RapUp, Nas explains the concept behind the Life Is Good artwork:
“Life, love, joy, anger, celebration. There’s so many things you can see on that album cover. You see my life. My life is on that album cover.”
As Nas continued, he noted that he hasn’t heard from Kelis (whose wedding dress appears on the cover), since the artwork was released:
“We just put it out, so it’s still way too fresh. [I'll hear from her] eventually at some point.”
Nas’ Life is Good is slated to hit stores on July 17th.
