Nas, Common & Q-Tip Rumored To Start Super Group

In 2007 Common and Q-Tip announced they were linking up to form a group called The Standard, but since the announcement there really hasn’t been any more talk about the two teaming up, until now, as Nas hints at linking up with Common and Q-Tip to form a super group known as The Standard.

Nas recently chopped it up with New York Daily News, and was asked about joining forces with Common and Q-Tip to form The Standard, he said it’s “definitely” a go.

Although Nas said the super group, The Standard, is a go… reps for all three emcees declined to comment.

    Yea I would have to agree, but I meant success not it terms of longevity or over all body of work, because wu-tang would get my vote in those terms. But I was speaking in terms of mainstream/public view considering they won grammys and what not. Although ODB did his thing at the grammys back in the day that shit was awesome, WU-TANG IS FOR THE CHILDREN.

Man rappers need to stop focusing on this type of stuff and put out good individual projects seriously. Q tip is the last person to form a group with, don’t they remember what happen to A Tribe Called Quest.

I can’t call it…The Abstract hasn’t been rapping since Vibrant Thing and the Rennaissance and I haven’t seen the web promote it well. Nas and Common are getting their bars up. Maybe he’ll produce. He is also a good producer in his own right. Their 1st single will be interesting…we’ll just have to wait…
