Mac Miller had a very successful run with indie label, Rostrum Records, but that is now over as the rapper has cut ties with his former imprint.
According to MTV News, Mac Miller and Rostrum Records have officially parted ways after the rappers’ original contract expired.
Mac issued a statement on leaving Rostrum:
Rostrum is my family. That is forever. No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever.
Rostrum Records Founder and President Benjy Grinberg addressed Mac leaving the label:
Mac is an incredible artist and has a bright career ahead of him. We are proud of the historic run that we had together and we will continue to support him in any way that is needed. We wish him nothing but the best in the future.
Mac was with Rostum since 2010 following the release of his highly praised mixtape, K.I.D.S. (Kickin’ Incredibly Dope Shit).
As of press time, Mac’s future label plans have not been revealed, but stay tuned to DS and we will keep you updated when that info comes to light.
