Lupe Fiasco’s ‘F&L II’ Is Half Done, Atlantic Will Not Force Changes On It

During an in store signing for Lasers which hits stores this Tuesday, [twitter=LupeFiasco]Lupe Fiasco[/twitter] answered some questions about his follow up to Lasers, Food & Liquor II.

Lu says he is half done with F&L II, and when asked if Atlantic will change it up on him, he says it will be all good.

The only songs on Lasers I really don’t feel at all are ‘State Run Radio’ and ‘Break the Chain’. I know the content in both of the songs is great but the beats and the hooks are really horrible. I feel like those songs were definitely songs that Atlantic made Lupe change up. Show Goes On is alright, it definitely not horrible, but you can tell its not a song Lupe would make if he had 100% creative control.

  “State Run Radio” is a really ironic song. Lupe pretty much just lays it all out about what exactly happened to him and Lasers- on a track that incidentally happens to sound very Atlantic-influenced.

That’s good news if it pan out that way. LASERS is a decent album for what it is. Think about it, it’s a quality commercial rap album. The songs are crossover potential but the messages are on point. it’s not like he talked about what every other rapper talks about, cars, clothes, jewelry, bank account and bitches….given the terms he had to deal with in putting the album out. He might have created a new niche for rappers of his kind, crossover but only in production……and im a little dissapointed in the auto tunish stuff he have on there. but decent album
