Lil Wayne has been working on his forthcoming album Tha Carter IV, and he’s having problems with the production that has been submitted for the album.

In a recent interview with XXL, Lil Wayne says that the producers need to step their game up:

“These niggas’ beats been sucking. I’m putting it out there: you producing, what ya’ll doing? Get right, man. Step it up.

As Wayne continued he states that he’s not the best rapper anymore, that he got old, and the new guys are too good:

“This is coming from a rapper. One of the best rappers. I ain’t saying I’m the best no more, because these niggas is too good these days. I got old.”

He added about the production he received:

“But damn, y’all niggas’ beats is terrible! [Chad Ochocinco walks into the room] These niggas’ beats sound like Ochocino made them.”

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV is slated to be released on August 29th.
