As Def Sounds previously reported, Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers’ artist Lil Snupe was killed, as a result of 2 bullet wounds, in Winnfield, Louisiana. At the time of the initial report, details were sketchy; but now, more developments have come to light and a suspect has been ID’d by police and a warrant issued for his arrest.
As reported by The Shreveport Times, Winnfield police have identified a suspect, and warrants have been issued for charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The suspect is 36-year-old Tony D. Holden, and he is currently on the run while being pursued by police, who have hopes of soon taking him into custody, for the murder of the young rapper.
Police say the cause of the altercation between Lil Snupe and Holden stemmed from a bet over a video game.
The two men began to argue over the video game bet inside an apartment, and it escalated as they took it outside. Once outside, Holden shot the rapper twice in the torso.
Winnfield PD Lt. Charles Curry gave a statement on Snupe’s murder:
An argument inside an apartment spilled outside; that’s where the shooting occurred. We are told they were betting on a video game. Supposedly he (Holden) robbed him (Snupe) of money.
Lil Snupe’s untimely passing came just 8 days after his birthday as he turned 18 on June 12th.
