As it was reported in early May, Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay taxes on over $1 million in earnings for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007. Now, today, the Grammy Award winning artist has turned herself in to begin serving her sentence.
As reported by TMZ, Lauryn Hill has just reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, where she will begin her three month sentence on tax evasion charges.
According to the publication, FCI is a minimum security type facility with barracks type housing where Hill not be isolated, and be housed with the general population.
Lauryn Hill is set to serve three months, and will be released in October of this year.
