KiD CuDi’s WZRD Album Debuts At #3 On The Charts

As Def Sounds previously reported, KiD CuDi lashed out at his label, Universal Republic, for allegedly under-shipping his new album, the rock-inspired WZRD with Dot Da Genius.

At the time, Cudder said:

Ok so just a heads up, my weak ass label only shipped 55k physicals cuz they treated this like some indie side project tax right off. So i apologize on behalf of my weak ass major label. And I apologize for the lack of promo, again, my weak ass major label.

CuDi may have had a valid claim as the album did pretty good first week numbers, moving 70,499 copies in the first sales week, falling at number 3 on the Billboard charts.

DS fam, Could KiD CuDi and Dot Da Genius have done better first week numbers if they weren’t under-shipped, or do you think the numbers would be where they’re at still?

Nah he woulda did tha same amount bcuz only his core fans bought it… There is no hype for this album… U will see next week wen it drops to number 50

He might have been able to out sell Game’s 90k first week sales for RED. lol Tell him to pull a Game, and just offer people follow backs on Twitter if they show him a pic that they bought 2 copies of that god awful album. I, myself won’t even attempt to try and download this crap.

      Anyway, I just replied to your post cause you went at me for being a Game’s fan some time ago, while you come here and share your hatered about Game on a post that’s about Cudi and his album. So yeah, what’s up with that? Stan much? Let me guess, you used to be his fan, you enjoyed Documentary but since Game never responds to your tweets you turn into a hater. Am I close?
      Oh and if you really want to get all technical about numbers with me, Cudi sold 70k the first week – how does that “could and would” out sell Game’s 90k is beyond me. You went to school, right?

        Did you read the article? Supposedly his label under shipped his album. So him selling 70k+ is actually pretty damn close to Game’s 90k lol If the album was not under shipped it could have out sold Game’s album, and Game even bribed his fans with a follow back on Twitter hahahaha.
