Last night at the 2013 BET Awards, Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar was the big winner as he brought home awards for “Best New Artist” and “Best Male Hip Hop Artist.”

K-Dot beat out Azealia Banks, Joey Bada$$, Trinidad Jame$, and The Weeknd for “Best New Artist,” while besting 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Drake, and Future for “Best Male Hip Hop Artist. “

As previously reported, Kendrick also took home an award for “Best Collaboration” for his feature on A$AP Rocky’s “F*cking Problems.”
