We have been waiting for Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated album Detox for ages, and for a while we thought the album was in our sights after Dre dropped a single and video from the album.

Now we find out the reason for the latest Detox delay as Kendrick Lamar says it was from Dre working on his new album, good kid, m.A.A.d city.

In a recent interview with Dutch blog Puna.nl, Kendrick addresses his album holding up Dre’s Detox.

K.Dot explains:

Detox got pushed to the back just because my album. Dre really found interest in my music. Wanted me to go forward and push that immediately. That’s a great thing.

Kendrick adds:

I’ve heard the records on Detox, you know it’s insane, and the opportunity to get on that is a privilege and an honor.
