The nominations for the 2012 Grammy Awards have been revealed, and for the second year in a row a Hip Hop artist leads the pack with the most nods.

Kanye West walks away as the front-runner with 7 nods for the 2012 Grammy Awards ceremony, giving the edge to a Hip Hop artist two years straight as Eminem led the 2011 Grammy’s with 10 nods.

To break down Kanye’s nominations, he will face off against himself for Rap Album of the Year for his solo album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and his joint album with Jay-Z, Watch The Throne. Ye also nabbed nods for the Song of the Year , and Best Rap Song for his track “All of the Lights,” which features Rihanna, Fergie and Kid Cudi, and Rap Performance of the Year for “Otis.”

Another stand-out nomination is J.Cole, for Best New Artist, who released his critically acclaimed, debut album Cole World earlier this year.
