At the time of the new deal, Jay-Z gave a statement about teaming up with the Powermat brand:
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution. I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
Now Jay-Z and Duracell announce a new, Wireless Power Nation, campaign. As part of the campaign Hov will implement the Powermat technology at his 40/40 Club.
Powermat CEO Ron Rabinowitz has given a statement on the latest implementation of the device, explaining how it will be used at the 40/40 Club:
“People will be able to charge wirelessly on embedded wireless power hot spots in public venues where they travel and interact throughout their day. All they will need to do is put their phone on the table, same thing they normally do. The only difference is that now, their smartphones will get charged from the table.”
If you happen to be in the 40/40 Club anytime soon, look out for a coaster looking device that will be able to charge your smartphone.
