Jay-Z will headline a series of 8 concerts to open the new Brooklyn Nets arena next fall.

As the NY Post Reports, Jay-Z who owns a portion of the soon to be renamed Brooklyn Nets, will perform at eight concerts to commemorate the grand opening of the Barclays Center which is now being built Flatbush and Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn.

The Barclays Center is officially set open on Sept. 28, 2012, with the first Jay-Z concert and will have three weeks of special events before the basketball season starts.

Sources are also reporting, the official name change to the Brooklyn Nets is set to happen today.

Jay-Z just appeared on Fox NY and spoke about the new arena and it looks like the name change is official.
