Jay-Z and Kanye West will link back up for a sequel to Watch The Throne.
According to Mike Dean, a veteran producer who worked with some of Hip Hop’s biggest names in his career, as well as Jay and Ye on their first collaborative album, the duo will return with a follow-up to the 2011 release, Watch The Throne.
In a recent interview with Quiet Lunch, Mike Dean spoke on WTT2:
“I’m working on the G.O.O.D. Music album, of course, and Watch The Throne 2 — it’s not started yet, but it’s coming.”
Late last year, Jay-Z hinted at the possibility of a Watch The Throne 2 as he told MTV that he and Kanye were in a great place creatively and said the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Watch The Throne could drop in 2012.
We will have to wait and see if Watch The Throne 2 will be released in 2012 as Jay-Z recently announced that he will put music to the side for the time being to concentrate on spending time with his newly born daughter, Blue Ivy.
At the time of the announcement, Hov said:
“I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter.” he added–“I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.”
Def Sounds will keep you updated when more details surrounding Watch The Throne 2 come to light.
