Jay-Z who is fresh off the release of the critically acclaimed collaborative project, Watch The Throne, with Kanye West is back in the lab recording new material, as Chicago super producer and Def Jam’s recently appointed Executive VP No I.D. has confirmed that Jay is already at work his his new album.
Billboard.com’s The Juice recently caught up with No I.D. and the Def Jam VP spoke on giving Jay beats and says that he has already heard new material from the Roc Nation boss:
“Jay has started again. He played me a couple of things. I gave him some music while we were at the ‘Watch the Throne’ sessions. But with Jay, you never know what he’s really doing, thinking, planning until it’s really done… I’m sure he’ll make a decision one day to make an album very quickly, like he usually does. He’s one of the best, period. I think he’s at a place where he has visions of what he wants to do, and it’s not really dependent on any of us. It’s dependent on his vision and he’s gonna do it, [and] hopefully I’ll be involved.”
No I.D. has worked as recently with Jay-Z on his last solo project, BP3, which sprung hits such as “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” and “Run This Town.”
