Ja Rule who is currently serving out a 2 year long prison sentence stemming from a 2007 arrest for possession of a weapon was sentenced to 28 months on tax evasion charges.

Earlier today it was reported that Ja Rule was convicted on tax evasion charges, and he was given a 28 month sentence for the offense.

Ja Rule wont have to serve much more time than the 2 years he is already incarcerated for, as he will serve the 28 month sentence concurrent with his 2 year weapons charge bid.

Ja Rule was previously slated to end his prison sentence in June 2013, but with his new sentence it will move him back to October 2013.

Rule may be able to earn up to six months good time and end his sentence early by meeting requirements for good behavior and other standards.
