New York rapper Ja Rule is currently serving a 2-year bid on gun possession charges, does an interview with the NY Daily News behind the closed walls at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in upstate Oneida, N.Y

Ja tells the Daily News that he has a new crew behind bars, which consists of Politician Alan Hevesi and former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski.

Ja speaks on the two taking him under their wing:

“Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,”

Ja added:

“Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here… But they’re both great, smart guys.”

As Ja continues, he states:

“It’s funny. “We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.”

Ja Rule is scheduled to be released from prison in February 2013; he also has a new album slated to be released later this month.
