As Def Sounds previously reported, Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week that led to the rapper crashing his Rolls Royce into a building while fleeing to escape from the gun fire. Now, due to the attempt at his life, Rick Ross has hired 24 hour armed security.
As reported by TMZ, Rick Ross has hired 24-hour armed personal security to watch over him in the wake of the recent drive-by shooting.
The publication reports, Ross was already using armed bodyguards for protection at concerts and public appearances, but now due to Monday’s shooting, he’s hired full-time security detail.
Sources close to rapper say he’s been receiving threats for some time, but they were not a serious issue until the recent attempt at his life.
Ross nor representatives for the rapper have given a statement about the shooting as of this time.
