Although he said there was no hard feelings when he parted ways with Young Jeezy in late 2012, Freddie Gibbs has been steadily releasing diss tracks aimed at his former CTE boss. Now, while doing promo for his joint project, Pinata, with Madlib, Gibbs addresses the diss tracks, and says that he will squash the beef if he gets an apology from Jeezy.

During a recent interview with Noisey, Freddie Gibbs reveals what it will take for him to quit dissing Young Jeezy.

Gibbs explains:

If he just apologized it’d be all over with. It’s not that deep.

Freddie Gibbs addresses signing to CTE:

That’s one of the only mistakes of my career.

He continued:

I loved Jeezy so much, diehard fan. I looked at the musical possibilities—if we were together, damn, we would make such great music. But only one of us was into it.

Gibbs adds:

You know another thing that made me get with CTE? I was feeling like rap was getting kinda clique-ish, like you’d be on the outside looking in and you was by yourself. Now I know how to stand on my own two. When I left Interscope, I didn’t know. When I left Jeezy, I knew.
