During the week of Super Bowl XLVIII, NFL owners plan to throw a private party and wanted Eminem and Kanye West to perform at the event, but their asking prices are seemingly too steep.

As reported by TMZ, the NFL owners group approached Eminem’s representatives about the rapper headlining a private party during the week of this years Super Bowl, and the Detroit rep was seeking $2 million for his services.

It was also reported that the league was interested in booking Kanye West for the event, and he was asking for half of what Em was looking for, $1 million. The Chicago rapper was also seeking various other “perks.”

According to the report, both rappers’ were turned down, as the owners group said Em and Ye’s fees were too high, and they decided to go another route.

With Eminem and Kanye being passed on, the NFL enlisted the services of Janelle Monae, who will reportedly perform at the event for a $150k fee.

The report also noted that DJ’s are the big thing this year, and the big names are seeking between $750K and $1 million for an event.

To add, Bruno Mars is set to perform at the halftime show of the actual Super Bowl XLVIII game, which takes place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on February 2, 2014.
