While Jay-Z was celebrating the release of his new album over the 4th of July weekend, his former partner Dame Dash didn’t have much to celebrate over as he was being hit with a nearly $3 million tax lien.

As reported by MTV News, a $2.8 million tax lien was recently filed against Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash, claiming that he owes $2,614,918.10 in back taxes from 2005 and $187,544 from 2011 making it a total of $2,802,262.30 owed to the U.S. Government.

Dash is hoping he doesn’t end up with the same fate as Fat Joe and Lauryn Hill as they both have been recently sentenced to prison time for unpaid taxes.

As a press time, neither Dash nor a spokesperson for the former mogul was unavailable for comment.
