New York gun laws have got another rapper, as Young Money emcee Cory Gunz was arrested in the Bronx on Saturday for carrying an unregistered Taurus .9mm handgun.

As the NY Daily News reports, Cory Gunz was arrested as he exited a taxi in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon. The rapper was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court Sunday night on charges of criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Cory’s father, Peter Gunz, posted $30,000 bail to get him freed.

Cory Gunz gave a statement after the arrest as he said:

“This was a big mistake on my part. I didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this. It’s been really hard, really stressful. When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on.”

If convicted, Cory Gunz faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three and 1/2 years in prison.
