Over the past few months, multiple G.O.O.D. Music artists from Q-Tip, Pusha T, and most recently Big Sean came forth and confirmed the follow-up to the Cruel Summer album. Big Sean even claimed that he even started to record for the Cruel Winter album. Now, while doing promo for his new film Luv, Common spoke on the possible Cruel Winter album, and says it’s not happening, and the word of the album was a rumor.
During a recent interview with Vulture, Common put all the rumors of a Cruel Winter album from the G.O.O.D. Music camp to rest.
Oh, yeah, nah, nah. I don’t think that’s happening.
The Chicago rapper adds:
It was more of a rumor — cats been creating, but everybody’s been doing their solo album. So that’s what that is.
Also during the interview, Com addressed his forthcoming solo album.
When asked when the album will be released, he stated:
The album will be coming out by probably near the fall, because I’m going back to shoot Hell on Wheels in late April.
Common named some producers on the album:
I’m definitely looking at some of the producers like Travi$ Scott, No I.D., 88-Keys, Hit-Boy. This has been the first time I’m open to working and not having just one, two producers and that’s it.
Common is currently doing promo for his new film, LUV, while gearing up to release his first mixtape this spring.
