Last week it was reported that legendary Atlanta duo Outkast officially announced their reunion tour for the 20th anniversary of the group, and it looks like that may lead into a new Outkast album, but not until the Andre 3000 and Big Boi release solo albums.

According to a Revolt.TV report, longtime Outkast producer Mr. DJ says there’s been a lot of activity at the Stankonia Studios as of late and both Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been recording new music.

With a lot of action taken place in the lab, Mr. DJ believes that 3 Stacks will drop his long-awaited solo album this year, and that Big Boi will release his own album as he has a lot of music recorded for his next solo project.

The longtime Outkast collaborator has the feeling that after the duo go on their 40+ date reunion tour, they will drop solo projects, and then get back in the studio for a new Outkast album as Mr. DJ states:

“I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle. We may make it back in for an album following that.”

Stay tuned to DS as we will keep you updated when or if we get confirmation of a new Outkast album.
