John Regan’s debut album “Sorry I’m Late” is an odd and impressive piece of work.
Regan is a Baltimore native with an incredibly ambiguous sound. His lyrics and subject matter are more personal than most rappers.
He reflects over his life over 15 tracks packing a lyrical intensity that at times is overtaken by the incredibly smooth production.
As a whole the album is one of the most relaxing listening experiences this year.
The LP is packed with more guest appearances than one would expect from a debut album on an indie label. However, the spotlight never shifts off of Regan.
